HPF on the synth/orchestra buss

    In a typical orchestral metal mix with a million tracks fighting for some space, how much low end do YOU cut away from the synth/orchestra buss?

    the entire bass/subbass region, from 300 down. shelf down the extreme highs a few db to keep from masking your cymbals and vocals.

    RedDog, I did that exact thing on this mix I'm working on now. It just muddies up your shit of you don't put an aggressive HP on it.

    You will probably have to do some volume automation of heavier caliber too.
