Soilwork are awesome on their new cd with melodic rang in the music and Speed's sing is a major growth in range. A huge true follow-up to Natural Born Chaos.
I will check out "Stabbing the drama" album before the Soilwork/DT show this week. This will determine if I should stay for Soilwork.
Well, since you're already going to be there, you may as well see how it plays in a live setting. Besides, the old stuff still rules live.
I LOVE STABBING THE DRAMA!!!!! Apologies for the caps, just seems like most people are saying it's not such a good album. As far as Soilwork goes, it's the only album I've properly liked - I've listened most of their albums, Figure Number Five, Natural Born Chaos, Predators Portrait, and I prefer STD out of all of them. There's a massive improvement in the clean vocals compared to FNF and NBC, that's what's converted me anyway. Also some great drumming, and VERY catchy memorable songs and riffs. I'd be well up for seeing them if they tour on the back of STD in the UK..... If I had to choose between Soilwork's STD and Dark Tranquillity's Character....Hmm...tough one. I've been a fan of DT for ages, I love the albums Damage Done, Haven, Projector, The Mind's I, but I've found Character hard to get into, I think it's because it's more adventurous and not as immediately catchy as Damage Done. Still, I do like it, specially the second half of the album, eg. One Thought, Senses Tied, etc. I wish Soilwork and DT were touring together in the UK
I liked Character more than Damage Done. Format C For Cortex and Treason Wall are my favs from that album.
character is catchy as thats not a bad thing i think its real good std is ok - better than fnf and nbc, but def. not predators or chainheart

hm I started list to soilwork at the release of a predators portrait but the other 2 albums werent so cool as APP, so I was also dissapointed by STD. sorry soilwork
hehe yeh it is that line but it does sound like he says ass in ur mouth everytime i see that movie i go wtf it sounds like ass! and i beleive that wouldve been a better line so much more 80's
I have all the old albums, but I'm a little hesitant to pick the new one up. I've heard some new songs live and they were alright, but nothing really grabs me and says "Go out and buy the album now!". There is one really heavy song (Don't know the name)that I heard that was pretty damn good. I guess I'll have to hear the whole album all the way through too really decide if I like it or not.
