Not sure if you girls have been watching the news, but I guess a flash flood has washed out a bridge on I15 to Las Vegas and there is now a 70 mile detour. I guess it's taking FOREVER to travel between LA and Las Vegas. That drive is going to suck donkey balls! Plan your travels accordingly.

Basically when we finally meet Maiden as a band on Sunday we will all look haggard after gigging out of town, not sleeping and driving for 9+ hours.

    YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
    :-(

    Thanks for the warning SK!

According to the CHP's website and Computer Aided Dispatch Page http://cad.chp.ca.gov/ the bridge closure for the I-15 is no longer listed and as I was informed today from one of the CHP supervisors, the I-15 is currently open.

What happened was that 3 of the columns that supported the bridge on the outskirts of Baker had deteriorated due to the water runoff caused by the thunderstorms in the Mojave. All traffic going northbound was re-routed but there was absolutely no mention of any traffic being re-routed going southbound from Baker.

3 inches of rain hit Las Vegas on Tuesday resulting in flash flooding in the North and Northwest sections of Las Vegas. Allegedly, the Strip was spared of any flooding.

The problem here is that the forecast for this weekend in Vegas is more rain which may result in the bridge being closed again. :ill:

Added 22 August, 2003: http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/ has all the information you'll need for the trip to Vegas or anywhere inside of California. For information by phone, call 1(800)427-ROAD.

The forecast through http://www.weather.com (The Weather Channel's website) is clear and around the high 90's, though it is supposed to rain this morning. Hope this helps out! :)
