IF are a total mystery. They can do good, meh, bad or even ugly and it doesn't seem to be a logical reason behind of that.

They won't be doing amazing or outstanding, mostly due to their age and experience. But I have no good or bad expectations regarding their new album. Though making jokes about it is funny.

I’m predicting a mix of SOPAF and RTR for the next IF album.

"Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have announced a collaboration with American rock band DAUGHTRY for their upcoming, yet to be named, 2022 album release.

"Melody and aggression is the core of our music and we can't think of anybody who combines these elements better than Chris Daughtry," frontman Anders Friden stated, when questioned by reporters outside of a California Starbucks. "People will hear The Jester Race in the new album, for sure."

"Chris is actually a huge fan of Siren Charms," producer Howard Benson, hanging out alongside Friden, noted. "It's a little known secret that he actually contributed a lot of ideas to Battles, which was, in my opinion, the peak of In Flames. We are very excited to see what a collaboration between Chris and In Flames produces. I've worked with Chris in the past, and when I mentioned the potential for a collaboration to Anders he was instantly keen to get something arranged. He was so eager, in fact, that he said we didn't even need to ask Bjorn!"

A reporter also caught up with In Flames' bassist Bryce Paul at a Florida beach, but he simply yelled "the election was stolen and vaccines are bullshit!"

There has been no word from drummer Tanner Wayne, whilst long-time guitarist Bjorn Gelotte was taking a nap whenever reporters tried to contact him."

    Brainwashed Bryce.

Losing out on tons of tour income. Actively fights things that would stop the pandemic and help him tour faster.

Talks about freedom but supports a wannabe king.

You lost your fucking mind Bryce.

Anders and Bjorn should be telling him to STFU or get out of the band. In fact if I was them I'd just kick him out anyway. No time for that kind of stupidity.

They can hire Dave Ellefson. I heard that he's unemployed right now.

That would make the second ex Megadeth member in the band.

wtf I'm a Daughtry fan now.

I only got into Instagram last year and followed everyone from the big Gothenburg bands, but I unfollowed Bryce within a month, lmao. I respect him for the slap bass on "Voices" but not so much on the opinions.

Also, had no idea that Elliot Sloan (that skateboarder who plays in Night Fiends with Tanner) played guitar in The Stranded with members of Disarmonia Mundi. Dude has my RESPECT now that I know that. Always liked Survivalism Boulevard.

I actually do like a couple of Daughtry songs :D dude has a good voice.

I've only seen Bryce's posts on Twitter but yeah, total moron.

Night Fiends is an alright project imo. More metal than anything IF have put out recently, if we're being honest.

Really? I didn't know that Bryce was such a moron. Time to do some research on his tweets.

I did some research. It's about his own opinions, I guess. He's not the best person ever. But, they have a responsibility to have someone like him in the band. No excuses. No nothing about not wanting politics to be involved in the band.

With someone like him, they're ok with his opinions or are just total morons that don't care.

Well, we all know that Sweden's are a bit carefree about the covid thing. So, maybe, they just agree with him. Though only a really stupid person would believe that the government will force people to get vaccinated.

Then, they can share his views or not. But that will only help the reputation of the band in certain circles.

I doubt Anders or Bjorn have strong opinions on it either way. They seem to be pretty passive people in general - Bjorn especially. Although Anders might get upset if Bryce tries to defend Schaffer.

They probably don't care and just need a bassist. Pretty sure they met him through Joe Rickard and he never really left the band.

Dudes need a real SWEDE bassist. How about the dude from Passenger that played with them in Europe a couple years ago?

Tanner can stay, though, he's cool by me.

Going by his rant when someone yelled "socialism sucks!" at the last show I went to, plus his comments on the Iced Earth dude years ago, I'd say Anders is pretty opinionated but keeps it to himself most of the time.

It's not as if someone can remain neutral about people's opinions regarding covid or the American presidency. And is also not as if such opinions won't affect the band in any way.

I have distanced myself from people around supporting the conspiracy theories. It has changed my own opinion on such people.

Now, imagine touring with one of them. They surely know about it and, if they don't, their management does.

And I'm not saying that they should get rid of him. That's not how I think this should work. More like saying that they know that he has strong opinions and they don't care or share such opinions. Not caring and sharing is, in politics, the same thing.

Not caring in a pandemic is not giving a shit about all the people who died or lost their employments due to that same pandemic.

I would find it difficult to support any band, including In Flames, who employed an anti-vax conspiracy nut. Sorry but for me personally that is very much a deal breaker. People can have opinions but when it comes to something this serious I can't support it in any way, including directly or indirectly putting any money into that person's pocket.

Now granted, I'm sure there are bands I've bought albums from in the past who have members with seriously fucked up views (never bought an Iced Earth album, for the record), but I've never bought those albums with the knowledge of what that person or people actually believed. If I did then I wouldn't have. Knowing Bryce's views makes it very difficult for me to support the band for as long as he remains a member.

Though I agree with your views, I'm also against the cancellation thing. They can still give him money and I can criticise them for that. But I won't tell them, in any way, to get rid of him. Even with a matter as serious as this one.

It's their own responsibility if they want to be associated with someone like him. And they surely do unless someone starts a campaign so that the guy is expelled from the band. As I said, there's not a carefree point of view regarding this kind of matters and "we don't talk about politics" isn't also an excuse.

I could give Anders and Bjorn the benefit of the doubt because the odds are high they would choose a conspiracy nut.

If you take a random American, half are Trump supporters. And then half of Americans believe COVID is not a big deal.

Then 1/3 of Americans full out believe the big lie and that COVID is a hoax.

Odds are pretty high they were going to end up with one of the crazies.

Jesper always seemed to be one of those conspiracy theory type people. Big into random pop culture trivia as well. I had a friend back in school and he loved Jesper and was big into theories, they seemed like the same kind of person.

Could be this is what Anders and Bjorn are looking for in a drinking buddy. Fun to hang out with when drunk. Not sure what other criteria they have.

I agree, they should remove him from the band by their own choice, not because of outside pressures.

The fact is that In Flames as a band gives Bryce Paul the platform to espouse his stupid and harmful views to a much wider audience, when otherwise his scope would have been much smaller (although judging from his Twitter being an IF member hasn't really done much for his popularity). If Anders and Bjorn are happy for him to be a part of their band and for him to potentially influence fans of the band to not be vaccinated then shame on them, but it's their choice.

I could be sympathetic if Anders & Bjorn didn't realise how awful this guy's views were at first, but there's no doubt they are aware of it now. I can't believe they are completely ignorant of what this idiot believes. It's now their choice to keep an anti-vax conspiracy loon in the band, and that doesn't reflect well on either of them, imo.

As far as Jesper is concerned I'm not sure what he believes, I haven't seen anything he's posted related to anti-vax, government conspiracies, etc.

So, they can have a Trump supporter and anti-vaxxer because of statistics, in the band? Let's say that, statistically, he supports the assault of the Capitol or is a racist cunt. Is it still ok?

It's not as being an anti-vaxxer is not harmless.

    100% agree.

Again I agree. As I said, is about sharing it not the point of view of that person and hanging around with that person.

Having some drinks together is not an excuse for such behaviour.
