This sums up what I have to say, totally. I'm glad to see that there are a few open minded metal heads on this forum still that are open to change, and are able to accept that bands can't stay the same forever. The rest of you, I've said it before and I'll say it again, just keep pretended Jester Race is the new release they come out with each time since you seem to deem it as some masterpiece. It's a good album, but not their best. Personally I love everything I've heard, it's not THE BEST I've heard by In Flames... But it's very enjoyable and the fanboy in me is quite happy with what's been leaked. Can't wait for the rest of it, I expect greatness. I think what I love the most about what's come out is that the songs still have that catchiness that In Flames has always been known for... Great choruses. Final - Well... That happens with pretty much every band, there's always two sides to the coin.
Well I haven't been on EVERY bands forum unfortunately. Its like Gums' said, people were shitting themselves over Pinball Map's OMFG pop-esque chorus. I just like seeing it happen over and over with each new album. I quit trying to talk sense into people with R2R. Because you know...all the people who don't like new In Flames are "pretended" that TJR is their new release every year! TJR a masterpiece? Wtf are you talking about? In Flames clearly has perfected their song writing ability with songs like Touch of Red, Transparent, and System.

I'm at work playing "The Quiet Place (Promo)" through my iPod/InMotion speakers and a co-worker asked me if that was new Korn!!!
In all seriousness, I got the same reaction from my friend. I played him The Quiet Place and he said if not for the keyboards, it could be a Korn song. The riffing in the verse and Anders vocals aren't too far from that either IMO. Keep in mind The Quiet Place is probably my favorite song off the EP, so I dont mean this in the cliche "THEY FUCKING SOUND LIKE KORN" way. I'm just saying its silly to pretend they sound NOTHING like Korn in parts.
If the reason I like In Flames is because of songs like December Flower and Jotun, why am I obligated to like The Quiet Place?
Why listen to Skyfire when you can listen to Kalmah? Anyway... I fail to see how it resembles the new korn, given that the styles are completely different... But say what you will. Apparently it'll never end, and I'll never be able to understand why people post on a forum of a band they don't even like. Oh wait, they like TJR... Like every other metalhead in existance. Yay.
