YouTube - Yngwie malmsteen Super Amazing Guitar God lesson.
The real Yngwie Lesson
Yeah, recently it does look like he's had a few trips to Krispy Kreme
I have a video of my year 10 music class playing Metallicas Master of Puppets and Orion if any ones interested in seeing it? I'll have to cut out some of the soft section of Orion because well...every one fucked up and it just sound terrible so i'll cut that out if i can and the video of MoP isnt the whole song for some reason out teacher stopped recording before the soft interlude, so if anyones interested in seeing well a rather amusing video of us playing these songs just say yay or ney.

YouTube - Thomas Lang- Meinl Drum Festival 06': Part 4
Thomas Lang is now dabbling with blast beats... I fucking give up!
Apparently he has a whole section on his new dvd about them. Mind you... IT'S 7 FUCKING HOURS LONG!
That guy is insane
sure.. throw them up ;P
i'm not even a drummer and i love him! he's got a great euro accent too!
No worries gimme another day I don't quite have the time right now.
Dude that was the worst Thomas Lang vid I've ever seen... maybe cause the guitar part over all the blasts was so annoying but I think the other stuff I've seen him do was a lot more interesting... I think there's a reason why most awesome (non-metal oriented) drummers don't make a thing about playing blast beats, cause the idea isn't exactly mind-blowing compared to what he can achieve.
True but it shows that the guy is a machine. He's determined to learn and MASTER every single possible way to play drums. Sure his blasts aren't "up there", but I garauntee you, they will be soon enough
+1 to Toby, Lang's backing musos obviously have no understanding of how to write an extreme metal riff.
Would one of you lovely drummer fellows be so kind as to explain to a poor layman like myself the precise nature of the coolness of what Lang is doing there? I'd be interested to learn. Other than the fact that its fucking fast, I can kinda pick up *some* of what he's doing, but wouldn't mind someone pointing out a few of the more pioneering patterns/techniques.
I don't think he's necessarily doing anything ground breaking in that video but he's showing an interest in learning a technique that is very foreign to him. And let's be honest, 90% of the people who love Thomas Lang wouldn't have a fucking clue what a blast beat is or would call it "random noise"
Fair enough, cheers Todd.
I was just talking to deathgate's hubby about this a few weeks ago.
