This makes me happy.
They usually sell cheaper on the night since your not paying for a booking fee, or credit card fees if you buy online. I doubt it will sell out...but who knows.
The last two times I bought tix at the door (Nile- Hi Fi, Saxon- Billboards) they have been more expensive than the pre-purchase price. Based on that experience, I won't be doing that anymore.
Ooh interesting. I might have to pre-purchase this time and compare at the door for future reference. I'm thinking of Testament on Friday...
I think it usually depends on who's playing, but I usually get them at the venue when they go on sale.
Full lineup for Soundwave 09 got announced overnight:
LACUNA COIL and IN THIS MOMENT are the only names that really float my boat, but there are a few bands that would be alright to see (NINE INCH NAILS, ALICE IN CHAINS, IN FLAMES, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, ALKALINE TRIO, LAMB OF GOD)
Holy shit. Thats a huge line up.
Jesus, I might have to go to that just for the sake of going. I'd love to see NiN live at least once, and I've got friends that are MASSIVE Lamb fans.
Symphony X have just announced a show in Indonesia, think that means they might make the trek down to Australia?
ALICE IN MOTHER FUCKING CHAINS holy shit!!!!! holy shit!!!!!
Whos the Lead sinder with AIC now , or does Jerry Cantrell double up with singimg as well.
I'm sorry dude. How can you say you'd rather see ITM than AiC or NiN? Just having In This Moment on the same bill as Lamb of God is amusing.
The reviews the new AiC line-up (with William DuVall) have been getting have been amazing. Anyone want to get me a ticket for this?
That's a pretty awesome line-up and it's got a lot of bands on it that I wouldn't mind seeing, but have either never had the chance or the money at the time.
Considering early bird tickets are only $110+bf, there's a very good chance I'll be going to this!
Fuckin' A! I wonder if LoG will do any solo shows... that'd be killer to see. Thanks for the info!
I'll be at the Melbourne one
HAHAHA - Never got into NiN, haven't really followed Alice In Chains after Layne passed away RIP, only ever heard a few Lamb of God tracks.
Read in an interview that SONIC SYNDICATE from Sweden are probably going to tour Australia early in the new year so I kinda figured they would be on the SOUNDWAVE bill too. They would have been a pretty good fit I think.
The Soundwave organisers don't appear to have any problems with artists doing sideshows, so there is a very good chance.
I'm really hoping for a Lacuna Coil sideshow!
All pretty irrelevant anyway - the Brisbane Soundwave is only two weeks after our baby is due so I'm gonna have to pull a hell of a lot of strings to get a leave-pass for it from my girl
Full line up
Nine Inch Nails
Alice In Chains
Scars On Broadway
Lamb Of God
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Face To Face
Every Time I Die
Funeral For A Friend
Less Than Jake
Poison The Well
New Found Glory
From First To Last
Saves The Day
Minus The Bear
Ace Enders (The Early November)
I Am The Avalanche
Attack In Black
In This Moment
The Riverboat Gamblers
Horse The Band
Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster
Should be good.
Can't wait to see HORSE The Band live, missed them when they toured earlier this year.
Did anyone here see them?
I just thought it was funny that someone would rather see a tryhard Trivium clone band than Alice in Chains. AiC have only just reformed in the last couple of years for touring. I don't know if they will record anymore. Also, Sonic Syndicate are terrible.
I'll most likely go to this. Wish it wasnt a bloody Sunday like last time though. Although, its pretty hard getting drunk at Soundwave... what, with those XXX GOLD cans and $10 bourbon cans.
Next year is going to be amazing. I'll be going for sure.
