Oops. It's all been sorted out with Deron. As moderator of a forum I can't be put on 'ignore'. There was a flare up in another forum where a few members got quite narky after I posted a Lycanthia clip there. It was a reply to a thread I posted long before most of them were even members but they took offence as if I was some noob spamming. It's an unmoderated forum so you can imagine all the trolling. There were one or two members that took particular offence and rallied up some support from other members to complain and they hit the Lycanthia forum with quite a bit of abuse - I banned them from the Lycanthia forum but it turns out one forum ban now bans you from all forums. Deron sorted it out warned them not to post abuse in the Lycanthia forum or face a ban and re-instated them. To keep the peace I asked Deron if I could have another user name so I can be put on 'ignore'. Granted! It's all simmered right down and I think only one of them has me on ignore but now that I can be ignored most of those same trolls have come good and read and reply to my posts. s
Damn it. Iggy and TOOL are at the BDO and I already have SW tix and I can't go to both. Fuck you, world.
plus Rammstein too! why do they only ever play the BDO here?! hope all 3 do side shows see my other complaints about festivals but does shit me a bit that they have such amazing bands playing the big fests but there are so many other bands who turn me off going plus costs, travel, crowds, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera :meh:
Their first time here on the BDO they played a sideshow at the Enmore. IMO it would've been much better, fireworks just don't look as good in daytime. Rollins was on tour with Marilyn Manson and he said their show was amazing indoors but at a festival they 'looked like four dead guys at a barbecue'. s
Rammstein were great fun in 2001- will be awesome to see them again. Overal, that's the most pleased I've been with a BDO announcement in eons.
Yeah TOOL's another band who are better indoors at night. I saw them in the early arvo in 95 at Alternative Nation and they weren't very inspiring.
I remember people coming back from that gig covered in mud. I saw TOOL at the Hordern and I can imagine all their 'atmosphere' being lost at an outdoor show. s
Tool played at the 07 BDO and it was a pretty good show, Im sure the pyro works looked much better being outside too!
I'll be at BOD. Quite a few bands I'm interested in seeing live. *edit* what time does BDO usually finish up? By the time Tool and/or Rammstein come on it'd probably be darkening anyway wouldn't it...
And grinderman. It ususally finishes at 11. only the last 4 bands get nighttime sets. Tool was awesome after dark last time. Iggy was a perfect daytime act.
When I saw Tool in 07' at BDO I didn't get out til 1am. Crowds are fucked when leaving. That was at princess park though. I've never been to it when its at the race course so I'm unsure how you'd go.
Hmmm I'd only be interested in seeing Tool, Rammstein and Andrew W.K. To be honest though I haven't heard of the majority of the bands, for I don't really keep up with what's new.
