Haha. That's amazing that album. When you listen to it, it sounds like they're playing this huge arena. Then you watch the DVD and it's a shitty club like Dungeon played when they first started. No wonder they didn't move around very much.

I always thought Alive in Athens must have been at some massive place, going on what I heard about it. How strange.

Is Barlow still a saviour of his homeland?

One band I did forget to list in my list of bands I asked about touring here was GAMMA RAY.

Got to speak to Henjo quite a bit (he hates spiders - was petrified of seeing a sydney funnel web when they were out here!).

He said they do want to come back here - hopefully next tour.

They did try and come down here on the Hellish Rock tour(!!!!!) but unfortunately it literally would have cost the band 5,000 Euro to do it - so obviously that was not a goer.

    I know, it sucks!

70,000 Tons of Metal was great - cruise ship so no need to keep the noise down or finish early. First band started at 10am, last band finished at 4am :p

Two words: Noise restrictions. Unless it's in the middle of nowhere, like Metalstock, you can't have a festival that runs all night.

God I miss Metalstock when it was at Scone... sure, the stage sucked, the sound was bad, it was boiling during the day and fucking freezing at night.... but it was still a crazy amount of fun!

Plus people need time to get public transport home.

I'm sure they can organise public transport to run all night for festivals. At 5am trains start up again anyways.

I think you're dreaming Josip. To have an all-night festival, it would need to be somewhere pretty remote. The Falls Festival runs until pretty late, so did Glenworth when that was on, but they were a long way from the city, or even a town. Maybe the promoter would run a shuttle, but it's unlikely there would be any kind of public transport somewhere like that.

Off course, it is nice to dream though. The atmosphere at night is much more appealing to me and I am sick of having to constantly get dressed up to go to the Cross instead of just chilling out by the water somewhere with good music playing in the background in my swimmers. When I went to the house music festivals in Europe they went from 11pm to 6am, was the best.

Speaking off someone with money needs to make a party island in Australia, like Ibiza. It would make a killing.

Festival I went to in Greece in 2004 was kinda similar to that. The festival was called "Rockwave" and was held about 30 miles outside of Athens. The festival promoters organised a convoy of buses from Athens to cart people out there.

    Twas most excellent indeed :)

Which is a touch hypocritical because King said this only a few days okay:
