The last time I saw Slayer Tom's voice was fucked, so there were lots of guest vocalists and instrumentals.

This show's already booked so it was either come without Hanneman or cancel.

They've recruited Gary Holt from Exodus.

    Worthy replacement IMHO!

Any confirmation to the rumour that SAXON have pulled out of their tour down here for Soundwave?

Apparently it was on teh Soundwave Twitter page that they have indeed pulled out. I'm told Slayer and a couple of other bands will be given extended set times.

Hmmm at least I don't have to worry about missing them if I don't manage to leave early enough now. It's a shame though.

Looking forward to Soundwave on Saturday. My day is gonna be huge:

    11.40-12.10 Taking Dawn
    12.10-12.40 The Sword
    1.15-2.00 Monster Magnet
    2.00-2.45 Bullet For My Valentine
    3.00-3.45 Murderdolls
    3.35-4.25 Primus
    4.15-5.05 Dimmu Borgir
    5.05-5.40 Ill Nino
    5.40-6.40 Slayer
    6.40-7.10 Kylesa
    7.10-8.00 Rob Zombie
    8.00-10.00 Iron Maiden

Miss a few bands I wouldn't mind seeing due to clashes (Millencolin, Sum 41, Social Distortion, New Found Glory, Pennywise, Coheed, Slash) but as a whole I'm happy :)

I hope you plan on leaving Rob Zombie early to get a good spot for Maiden.

    My Sunday:

    Bullet For My Valentine 1400
    Stone Sour 1445
    Slash 1630
    Slayer 1740
Queens of The Stone age 1855 (only watching them so I can have a good spot for what will follow)
    IRON MAIDEN 2000

I saw Maiden this evening. Fuck yeah. They played maybe 4 songs off the new album and the rest was a bit of a mixture.

According to setlist.fm, they've played the same 16 songs on all 5 dates of the tour thusfar.

At least I have a pretty good idea of what to expect saturday night :D

The set lists I've seen have 5 from Final Frontier, 2 from BNW, 1 each from DoD, Powerslave, Fear, 7th Son, Piece of Mind and S/T and 2 from NoTB. And no "Run to the Hills".
