Never thought I'd see the day when Triple M interviewed Slayer.
My cousin was telling me about something he read in that new Metallica book that they are planning a stadium show that would rival The Wall and they're only taking it to 8 cities around the world. Sydney is supposadly one of them

Soundwave in Adelaide was awesome. I loved The Sword, Chris from Taking Dawn jumped into crowd after playing on stage next to them, and headbanged with all of us. I was backstage for Slayer, Monster Magnet were great. Heard lots of other bands and saw some of their sets, but was busy working. Iron Maiden killed of course.

I worked two days pre-packing riders, then on the day delivered riders to bands in between seeing some bands.
Highlight was spending time setting up Maiden's lounge with their food and drinks, and running specialty items to all the A bands.
Lots of work, was very tired after but had a great time and met lots of awesome people as usual!!
I have some photos and vids on facebook. I hope everyone enjoyed it, I can't wait for next year!!

Just a heads up for those after tickets for gigs at the moment.

MOSHTIX are running a promotion at the moment where if your transaction is over $50 and you pay via paypal, you get $20 back!

    http://www.moshtix.com.au/pages/paypal/terms-conditions.html

Note that it doesn't apply to all gigs (eg. I couldn't pay for Alestorm tixx via Paypal *sad*) and it only runs to end March (or until their budget for the promotion runs out).

Its only $20, but hey $20 you save on tickets is $20 more to spend on alcohol :D

The Maiden crew enjoyed some very nice wines. Mostly french, $170 for one bottle. He requested some 'cheap local beers', the likes of XXXX Gold, some Toohey's New, Coopers light. Also, Cooper's Pale Ale, Corona's, and lots of wine and water.
They really look after their production crew and roadies. Very easy to get along with. In fact, all the bands were this year.

Hey Red - you being backstage and all that, I don't suppose you heard any word about what "Soundwave Revolution" is???

A mini-soundwave held later in the year? a big multi-day festival? a simple rebranding for 2012?

    Any ideas??

A dvd with lots of live footage from each year's Festival?
That would be an awesome idea, would sell well I think.

I didn't hear much around, but I have word that its just a new name.

Yeah - I was thinking along the same lines Todd :p

Not sure how many of you follow Steel Panther on Facebook (I now LT and Andy do :)), but it was mentioned in this context:

    http://www.facebook.com/steelpantherkicksass/posts/195977963768780

And in reply to someone asking if that meant they were coming down under, they replied "in Rocktober".

I love that when I opened the Steel Panther FB page, the profile pics on the side column were of LT. ROFL.

Finntroll and Claim the Throne were fan-fucking-tastic last night!!!

short sleeve shirts were $40, Long sleeves $50. Short sleeve shirt is great quality - Hanes shirt (made in Bangladesh!) and sooo soft.

I won an autographed tour poster and autographed Nivelvind CD that I collected from the merch desk so I didn't mind paying the $40 for a shirt.
