There is going to be a second announcement for Soundwave Revolution on August 1st.

Some rumours floating about, one seemingly solid (but somewhat 'out there' IMHO) is the old glam band "Steelheart" are going to be one of the acts.

I thought there'd already been 2 announcements, but maybe what I thought was the 1st was actually just a buildup of confirmed rumours. I'm guessing the next one will just be to polish it up and fill the last gaps, maybe 6 or 8 bands at the most.

So the announcement Monday for Soundwave Revolution will have two bands that are between Van Halen and Alice:

    iamnotshouting
@mh5150 Top 4 bands are considered headline acts. We have announced #1 (Van Halen) and #4 (Alice Cooper) and left #2 & #3 for 2nd announcement.

I'm still skeptical about this further announcement thing. When was it supposed to be? Monday? It's Friday now and it hasn't even leaked. That's pretty unlike SW. In the past they've had the watertightness of a sieve.

Talked to a couple of people close to SW about this and they said it is either one of two things:

1: They are trying to hype up things and announce one big act that will surprise everyone such as AC/DC or another massive headlining act or even get a band that had broken up back together for a series of shows here before a bigger comeback tour.

    or

2: they have fucked up negotiations with the above and are trying to scramble to find someone to replace them so they don't look like a bunch of dicks.

Neither is 100% known, so am putting it in the rumour pile but neither would surprise me when it comes to a big festival situation but bet more on the latter one.
