I'd love to catch the Steve Grimmett tour, but being down here in Vic makes it hard. :(

And yeah I think a Ripper tour would surely do better.

    Stupid Brisbane-skipping tours are stupid.

I've seen them a few times over the years so I'm not even remotely tempted in travelling interstate for this, but would have definitely went if there was a brisbane gig.

Oh well - tour promoter's loss, not mine.

May in fact be the promoter's gain... but then again, I thought Arch Enemy typically do very well here? Unless they have other touring commitments?

Yeah the couple of times I've seen 'em in Brisbane they've pulled a strong crowd.

    Very weird.

Just noticed (thanks to Spikes Red) that Orange Goblin want to tour Australia next year.

    That would be cool :)

I was SO let down. Ripper is a gentleman, Schaeffer is a backstabbing piece of shit. IMHO.

Yisssss! Will be there like Fred Astaire.

Also, on the subject of tours skipping cities, what the JESUS CRAP is with Sisters of Mercy not doing a Sydney show! Unprecedented.

Nothing about the Ripper Owens tour on the Brisbane HIFI website yet. Maybe the promoter has just thrown the details out onto the interwebs to kinda see what sort of buzz is generated and whether its worth going ahead with? *shrugs*

Hope it doesn't fall through. Would love to see Ripper doing some Dio, Priest, Malmsteen, IE, etc. Although going by setlists from early 2011, his sets were basically 2/3 Priest stuff, a Sabbath cover, and some of his solo/Beyond Fear songs.

Anyone see Slipknot at Soundwave or on their sideshow? I thought they put on a bloody awesome rock show. One of the best I've seen ever.

I think even if you don't like them, check them out Melbourne peoples. Spectacular show :worship:

Devin was awesome! *Just to rub it in*

Meshuggah were meh, I left after there 3rd song. Devin should have headlined a fair amount of people were lining up outside to get photos with him while Meshuggah were playing.

I'm very peeved to have missed Steel Panther. I hung around outside the venue for two hours last night but didn't manage to snag a ticket.

Shame you didn't get a ticket. :( I have a bizarre feeling I saw you out front asking people if they had a spare ticket.

Fantastic performance. Piss funny. Great songs. I'm sure Michael was miming during the high notes but they're a great live (cough) band nonetheless. Would see them again in a heartbeat.

No idea how many people left after they finished but I'm sure it was quite a few.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but I looked up his setlist statistics and noticed there doesn't seem to be any IE songs on them.

Ripper's the sort of artist who could benefit from lineups of popular local support acts. Plenty of the fans of local bands wouldn't know who he is, but they'd enjoy the show if they went along.
