You can't bring them down but apparently you can bring them down under! YEWWWWWWWWW

Also, there's shit all over the Faecbook - the WARBRINGER tour has gone shit creek in yet another marvellous debacle for the Australian metal scene. People (Warbringer themselves being chiefly amongst them) are accusing the promoter (Oceanic Sharks) of disappearing with all the money from the tour, violent threats are being made, everyone's flinging mud and shit etc etc the usual story, the same as we've seen 100 times before. JOY.

    Not good...

The Perth show was a fucking great though - hopefully they see the money from my ticket, shirt and stubby holder! :kickass:

The promoter of the Warbringer tour clearly had no idea what he was doing. There is a difference between being a promoter and being a fan. He was more of the latter.

I was playing fill-in promoter at both Melbourne shows because he wasn't doing his job properly. Thankfully, I knew the guys at the Bendigo Hotel and got the guys a room for two nights while they were in Melbourne.

I doubt the promoter will have a future in music after this.

The Warbringer lads said they still had an amazing time and were glad they got to finish the tour. They said they'll definitely be back, regardless of what happened.

I seriously don't know. It may get picked up by another promoter. He was supposedly going to bring out a cult thrash metal band next year, but I doubt that will happen.

Fans in Sydney are leaning hard on all the local promoters (Hushy, Balfour etc) to take over Hypocrisy but I don't know if they will

What sort of band is Warbringer? I'm clearly not as up with things as I used to be.

Traditional thrash metal, similar to Overkill.

    Ah thanks Anwar!

On another note, I see that Whiplash Festival is now free. Does anyone know anything about that? It seems bizarre. I didn't actually know about the event at all before a few mins ago, but I'm just curious.

Just heard from a member of Psynomenous that it's free in Canberra tomorrow (at the Basement).
Don't really know much about it myself. Just that it was meant to have Voyager headlining with Mnemic or something.

The word I heard was that "all costs are covered". Seems an odd move, but hey, all the better for those that can get in for free I guess

Apparently the $20 is to cover costs of the soundguy and the bands only.

    All sounds really fucked up.

It's bizarre that it could occur. How can a charged gig suddenly become free (unless you get some massive headliner pulling out, like when Ronaldo didn't come over for the Brazil tour a few years back)? I don't know how they think they can cover costs.
