Move to NZ, problem solved. If I lived in Aus I'd be broke too! Having said that, I'm popping over to stay with my sister in Melb and see Black Sabbath a 2nd time, and will catch a few other bands while I'm there. Had a pile of airpoints to make it less painful.
I might be moving (back) to Hobart soon for uni, so won't be seeing any international bands play. Not like I could see many living in Canberra anyway.
Soilwork touring in October. Don't have all the dates (I'm sure Metropolis Touring will announce officially soon). But the dates I know: Wednesday 02 October 2013 - Brisbane Hifi Bar $64.50 Friday 04 October 2014 - Melbourne Billboard $64.70

So Cattle Decapitation are touring. As a support band? http://www.killyourstereo.com/news/...cattle-decapitation-announce-australian-tour/
Makes economic sense - Thy Art Is Murder pulls a bigger crowd here. Good on an Aus band claiming the top spot.
As someone mentioned elsewhere... no-one would bat an eyelid if it was Psycroptic (or even Lord) who did this. Because it's a band that some people don't like, it's "wrong"
Yep, the headline act is quite young in comparison and people are griping they haven't earned their dues, plus I guess C.D. fans don't want to mingle with an audience full of noobs. The good thing for C.D. is they'll be exposed to a larger audience so it's a win for them. s
Steel Panther should be back later in the year. They recently announced a new tour and Stix posted this on Twitter: Stix Zadinia ‏@Stixzadinia: We will come to Europe and Uk and Australia and South America and Canada and Asia to rock all y'alls nuts n pussies off. Don't u worry. -1:46 PM - 12 Mar 13
Its really fucking refreshing to see a band hitting up Australia so frequently so early in their career.
This usually means they're on par or doing better here than in the USA/Europe. There's a few artists, Good Charlotte, Pink, Chris Isaac, The Village People, to name a few, who keep coming back year after year. Also if they're situated on the west coast of USA, the low plane fares of recent years no doubt helps. s
I'd live it if they kept coming back. I'll see them every time, and with any luck it'll become easier to get a ticket too.
KAMELOT touring in June!! Could this be the best year for metal gigs in recent memory? I think so: www.metropolistouring.com/current_tours_kamelot_australian_tour.html
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'll just leave this here http://www.smokescreenmusicfestival.com.au/
