Shows how much they love & miss touring. Ulcerate probably at least expect to be vaccinated by October. Stälker booked theirs when everything looked calm though.

Vaccinated means fuck all in this country at the moment. The numbers are so low and the numbers able to get vacced are so low that any number the government might have thought would work for opening things is miles off. We still only have something like 25% of adults fully vacced and Northern Territory is the only state that's even got close to vaccing the under 18's.

Heaps of local bands are touring Australia and lots of them are actually playing gigs, but with Sydney currently in lockdown till at least the end of the month, Melbourne possibly going into lockdown number 5 tomorrow and all the states continually locking down borders, gigs are being cancelled all over the place. Still the gig in Tassie should be good for them.

The comfort in being vaccinated before travelling would be reducing the health risk for themselves (and the chance of spreading it around if they did catch it). Not worried about what you cunts are doing. :p

I doubt they'll go direct to Tassie if the other states are still fucked, they'd just postpone the whole tour.

I'm pretty sure they can't go straight to Tassie, but I think the whole bubble has been closed again anyway.

Bands just need to get more creative with their tours.
Forget vacces, they just need football boots and gigs in Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Brisbane. Brisbane is the place for football atm, but that could close at short notice so that's a back up gig. The other states are okay and the shows wouldn't be that much different in size to shows in NZ, the big difference is that audience would have washed in the last three days.

Really? I thought Tassie was still bitching about not getting any tourists and how unfair it was.
On the news last night they did have the headline "NZ travel bubble burst" but headlines mean jackshit these days, it might only be off between Vic and NSW

If the vaccine rollout wasn't so poor we'd be a much better chance of having gigs lined up for the months ahead. There's a lot less certainty than there should be.

I think that's only part of the story. Sure the roll out has been shit, but the way the states and feds are handling themselves is a bigger reason why we are in the shit we're in. There was and has been a huge number of gigs lined up across the country for the last 6 months, some to small crowds, some to large crowds, but all of them happened while the vax rollout was at it's worst. What we are going through now has more to do with inept governments than whether we are all vaxed.

Gigs were held while the rollout was at its worst because there were no outbreaks at the time. Outbreaks are inevitable, and were always going to happen again in the absence of an effective vaccination program.

The shitty vax roll out is easy to blame for everything bad that is happening, but it's hardly the catalyst of those things. The governments already know who is fully vaccinated, who is half vaccinated, there is even certificates to say a person is fully vaccinated which can be produced as easily as a QR code. Yet here we are with something like 30% of the country under lockdown with no exemption to those vaccinated. Many of the areas in lockdown haven't seen cases of covid for more than 12 months, yet vaccinated people are still locked down because the vax does not stop people getting covid. Even if the vax roll out had gone better we still wouldn't be opening gigs up any more than they were a few weeks back. Overseas acts will still struggle here for a long time due to the way they tour the country but local bands in all but two states are still managing to put on gigs.
