gibson voodoo flying v, jackson RR1, ibanez JS1000(?), and if you can stomach the looks, ibanez JEM's are good.

That guitar is really awful. You're basically paying for the paint job. If you want a Rhoads that only has 22 frets and your limit is $1500.... try to find an RR1 for that price. It's not that far-fetched and the playability is 100x better. Those shitty X series Jacksons are really no good. If you don't necessarily want the Rhoads, look for a used Jackson SL-3 Soloist. They go for soooo fucking cheap used and they're so playable that it's unbelievable. They're $1000 new but you often find them on E-Bay and in music stores for below $500. I got mine in mint condition for $350. I just took out the Duncan JB and put in an 81 so the cost ended up being only like $425 after the pickup swap... and.. it's one of the nicest guitars I've ever played. AND IT'S ALL MINE BITCHES, MUuuuhahahahahahaaAaAAAaaaaa. Sorry, sleep deprivation is getting out of control. Later.

    wow thats crappy.

if you have 1500 bucks then shit, why get a half assed guitar? you can get a fucking USA rhoads on that budget. even easier to find a USA soloist.

dude, if that's your limit, screw the paint job and just get a black RR1. take it in somewhere when you have the money and get the paint job later, because if your limit is that much, for the love of god dont waste it on an Rx10D. i mean, they arent really bad guitars, but you'll regret it later on when you realize how much better sounding an RR1 is, and you dont have the money for it.

and also, it says that paint job is "custom", making it sound like there's only one with it or something, but you can get that same paint job off of musiciansfriend.com.

i bought my RR1 with pinstripes (well..sort of pain job :Smug: ) $1399 not including shipping
if you contact one of these dealers by phone or email, they tell you the REAL price they will offer. the reason why their list price is expensive is because it is an agreement with JACKSON to protect their products..anyways...try contact these guys:
    www.eastonguitars.com
    www.mattsmusic.com
    www.vwallguitars.com
    www.guitarasylum.com

I think if you're only gonna spend $1500, get something with 24 frets. RR1's are super nice but they only have 22 frets and that limits so much.

no it isn't. That's just the price dealers are forced to print in their advertisements. don't buy from those huge chain stores either.

And RR1 can be had for under 1500 dollars. The most expensive finish will probably run you aroudn 1700. E-mail Jason at www.drumcityguitarland.com or Kevin at www.eastonguitars.com Those guys will hook you up with the best USA Jackson you can afford. they will give you the real prices on those USA Jackson guitars.

    USA Jackson...you can't go wrong.

$500 for a rx10d is ripoff. You can get a brand new one for less than half of that.

    > Arnt 24 fret Rhoads like 2400 or soemt hing?

You need to have them custom-made, and thats -very- expensive. If i remember Jackson made a few "road hazard rhoads" a few years ago that were 24 fret, but they only made a few of those and yeah they were fkn expensive.

i think Easton guitars will give you the best prices.

Although if you dont want a floyd.

Jackson have a new Rhoads out made in india with 24freets and string thru body.

Its pretty crap but if you want a 24fret rhoads, its your best bet.

i remember seeing that one a few days ago, its pretty cool (except only 22 frets and shitty tune0matic bridge)

and to redo the paint job, you'll probably have to repaint the whole guitar including the back of the neck.
