Thrash aint dead. There are alot of newer thrash bands out there. NOT METALCORE. Real Thrash Metal that sounds like Kreator, Destruction, etc.
    Thrash will never die.

Oh yeah, my post spews ANUS.com rhetoric. Look, the simple thing is that Testament is fucking MEDIOCRE. The Legacy had some great songs and The New Order was mildly sufficient at some points but ultimately too slow for its own good. Practice What You Preach and Souls Of Black = the EXACT definition of mediocre. After that, it's even worse.

Yup. What's funny is that over at the Testament board they're all bitching about how mediocre Metallica is and how much better Testament is in comparison - hypocrisy at its finest.

Thrash is not dead, but if it were it would live on in my heart until the day a mangey bird rips it from my decaying (but still mostly sexy) chest and feeds it piece by piece to it's hungry brood. Then thrash will live on in the hearts of each of those baby birds who will return to peck out the eyes of anyone who fails to appreciate their thrash-some legacy.

Really, thrash isn't dead, it's just that the popular end of it is getting stale, and new stuff is somewhat underground. Probably because there isn't much scope for innovation (as elsewhere stated), which limits how many new bands spring up, but it's still a good sound to my ears.

Ok, sure you can say Testament are mediocre at best - mabye there is some truth in that but they are still playing thrash metal today and have (for the most part) at least always attempted to be a heavy outfit.

I can see the failing in New Order and especially Pratice but at the end of the day they still have enough positives to make it worth my while. Maybe I'm biased from the memories of the old days but to me, Testament still hold potential and as their last album proved, they're ready to deliver.

Exactly the stuff I would make an exception for in saying I like thrash with the exceptions of Metallica and the like which had a good bit of the 80s cheese in it.

I've heard a few good thrash bands around, Ptich Black and Crimson Scythe and so on.
