I just got this cd and I was kind of sceptical about how it would sound since i found Prometheus to be a bit of a disappointment. However, the cd has turned out to be absolutley amazing IMO, anyway, what do you people think about it? and about the progression Emperor went through?

I liked the album, but it is the only one that I have heard by the band.

I think it's a great cd, sure it's not black metal, but who cares?

    Utterly horrible. Their worst album.

I'm not mad about it. Curse You All Men and Sworn are both worth the album's price alone but the rest is rather bland.

I like it a lot. Especially the focus on guitarwork and the thrashier sides of it.

To me IX... is the down point between two classic albums. It's where Emperor really tried to alter their sound, and though it works at times, it is often clear they hadn't worked everything out yet. All in all there is not enough fire behind it and there are one too many iritating riffs. Anthems and Promethus put it to shame...

I really like it, though not as much as Anthems and Nightside Eclipse.

I also enjoyed it alot. I say enjoyed it because I played the thing out almost a year ago. It's a great album for what it is.

Obviously you do, or you wouldn't have pointed out your opinion on it not being a black metal album.

I dislike Prometheus, but it's much better than this waste of plastic.

No, I'm stating that for the next 100 or so comments on how they sold out and stopped playing black metal.

Also, I think the guitar production on this album is horrendous, they really could've done better there.

It's OK. I adore An Elegy of Icaros, the rest I can take or leave.
