my point was, that if the "virgin mary" was a person that actually existed, then it's possible that someone ejaculated into her vagina her even though she herself had no memory of it, if this happened, then she would have been totally freaked out, and would have eventually told somebody (at least 1 or 2 people) that she concieved without having sex, thus creating the myth of "the virgin birth"

Wouldn't a more logical conclusion be "who drugged and raped me?" It seems a bit implausible that the first conclusion she would draw would be that she immaculately conceived.

Well, probably at the time it happened, she was born and raised in a very religious family where it would have been a disgrace to the family to have a baby without being married to the father. And the position of a woman at that time would be no good in trying to accuse a man of drugging and raping her. She just had to say "I'm carrying the Messiah" and people would be in awe.:worship:

Agreed, her accusing a man of raping her, true or not, would be considered disrespect to him and she most likely would have been killed and the concept of christianity may have never even been brought into the world....what a wonderful world it would be...

Then why didn't more women claim to be carrying the Messiah?

also, if she was drugged before being raped, it's remotely possible that she didn't even realize that the drugging happened
she could have just went to sleep a virgin and woke up pregnant, happens in the modern world all the time (yeah, i know there wasn't any GHB in the time of the Virgin Mary)
also, if she really had absolutely no memory of having any kind of sex, she prolly wouldn't have any idea about who the hell got her pregnant, unless she just assumed that her fiance did it, also her talking to the angel Gabriel could have been either her tripping on peyote (or some other halucinogenic desert plant) or just something she (or someone else) made up to explain a "virgin birth"

Surely the story of the virgin birth is probably just another fable like the feeding of 5000 etc?

It is impossible to prove Jesus didn't exist. At the same time it is silly to believe he "most likely existed". Without any credible historical evidence there is no reason to believe that Jesus existed.

Also no woman has ever or will ever be impregnated by a sole omnipotent omnipresent entity.

i was thinking Mary got impregnated without realizing that sex had happened could have been the same as Lot impregnating his 2 daughters without Lot realizing that the sex had happened (just after the destruction of Soddom and Gommorah)

    also
i thought "the feeding of the 5,000" could have been an extremely exagerated number combined with somesort of illusion where 50 people were feed with food that initially appeared to only be enough to feed 5 people
