Led Zeppelin - The Rover & Beneath The Mire intros

    Has anyone realized the similarities on the drum intros of these two songs? Sounds like it could be "borrowed" from The Rover or at least been a influence for Beneath The Mire intro.

    yes they're very similar, but imo a drummer like m. lopez never "borrows". ( btw lopez's intro is better :headbang:

    Yep, it's almost the same but a little slower with Zeppelin.

    LZ is in my favourite trio of bands along with Opeth of course.

    Don't take Nailed Reaper so serious :D

    LZ sounds metal for its time : I agree.
    Both intros are similar : ...I find LZ's one quite simplistic compared to BtM.

    By the way, intros are really pretty similar. Lopez's one is just an upgraded version of Bonham's one. But LZ still sucks although Bonham was a great drummer.

    yeah just about every band uses that beat seeing as pretty standard. also Led Zep is amazing.

    I never noticed that before I love "The Rover". Lopez's is a bit more complex though.

    Yeh well bands like Zeppelin didn't use so complex things yet so it's pretty obvious that Opeth would make it a bit more complicated if they took influence from it.
