Priest was amazing. They did Beyond the Realms of fucking Death. Unbelievable.
Missing Link Tour this weekend with Clutch, Mastodon, and Graveyard. Hyped as shiiit.
Anyone have it roll through their hood?
Saw Aborted with Fit for An Autopsy, Archspire, and Darksermon. Aborted was awesome but they looked tired. Maybe they were a little disappointed with the crowd size since only about 100 or so fans turned out.
Whats up with the guys doing karate in the pit for bands like Fit for an Autopsy?
Next show will be Metal Alliance Tour on June 11.
They have done it for some time now, but still, it's an unbelievable track.
So, I went to Mayhem Fest last weekend. Victory Records had their own side stage, but these were the only bands from that stage I even cared about:
All were good. Most only got a 25 minute set which is fucking bullshit. Jungle Rot should've had at least an hour.
Then the headliners were:
The Devil Wears Prada
Didn't give a fuck about TDWP so that's when my girlfriend and I ate dinner. We watched Hellyeah ONLY because of Vinnie Paul. It was basically 45 minutes of Chad Gray screaming into the microphone. He needs to revive Mudvayne because that band had some decent stuff at least.
King Diamond was on point. He didn't have his face paint because of an eye infection. He did a few Mercyful Fate covers and those fucking ruled as you would expect.
I was dumbfounded during Slayer. It was so very very good. I contend that Paul Bostaph is a better drummer than Dave Lombardo. Gary Holt was filling in on second axe and I don't know if he fits that mold well for Slayer.
What mentally healthy person lets The Devil Wears Prada be headliners? It's a fucking bullshit. Really similar thing bothered me on this year's hellfest when Faith No More were headliners, and Judas Priest were not. Inconceivable.
Too bad that tour shows up here on a Tuesday here in Jersey, and unlike some people I actually have work. Never seen King Diamond yet, which would be the only reason why I would go (definitely need to see them bad). Slayer sucked the last time I saw them, but someone told me they had a guitar tech filling in, so that would make sense. Otherwise, the last few times I saw them in recent years they were pretty good, but each set has been worst than the last in my experience. They were better with Lombardo behind the kit imo, and obviously better as well when Hanneman was still playing.
Seeing King Diamond live is worth it.
Mayhem tour didn't come through Vegas, but Jungle Rot played on an off date and they put on a good show playing for about an hour.
I went to Seether & 3 Doors Down last night. Calm yourselves.
Last show was Disentomb with Kataplexy in Chicago. The Aussies slayed.
Next show is Louisville Deathfest with Archspire, Disgorge, Mortal Decay, Malignancy, Gutrot and Artificial Brain. Most excited for AB and MD. This will be my third time seeing Disgorge, but I'm sure they'll put on a great show. Saw Gutrot last month too, I hope someone throws up a sex doll during their set again.
Anyone able to go to this should and watch Bleach Eater!!
I have not been to any shows in awile. I saw Alice In Chains and Velvet Revolver in 2007. It was awesome as fuck seeing Slash and Jerry Cantrell play. And Heaven and Hell in montreal. My last show was The Allman Brothers and Santana.
