Both Tristania and Lycanthia formed in 1996.

It was well before my time in the band but the founding member was into early Theatre of Tragedy, Anathema, My Dying Bride and many of the popular Metal bands.

I saw Tristania play a festival in Spain, first time I'd heard of them, haven't heard much of them since and still wouldn't be able to name any of their songs or albums. I'm not into that style of music, I'm more into late 80's Metal and even don't listen to much of that anymore.
