    Edit: Also, is the new Dark Tranquility any good? The 2010 album.

    New DT is ok, maybe i need to have a few more listens, but i'm not enjoying it as much as their other ones. I reckon Damage Done is the best from them.

    I've been listening to Sacrilege recently. Pretty good melodic death metal; I've only heard their album The Fifth Season but it has some killer songs.

    Arsis is pretty cool, but they do sound like a copy of Carcass which in my opinion is a good thing.

    at a point, Opeth was pretty much all i listened to and i tried to find bands that could match up to them. i would try out October Tide but not their latest album. give 'Rain Without End' a listen
