METALCAMP 2007 The hottest and longest METAL event of 2007 is going to take place from July 16th to July 22nd in Tolmin, Slovenia. That means: 7 days of camping and beachparty 5 days of live music - 2 stages more than 80 bands 7 days of hell!!! Following bands will be live on stage: BLIND GUARDIAN With their new album “A Twist In The Myth”, BLIND GUARDIAN excelled themselves once more and finally lead the spearhead of the international metal-scene. Their grandiose bombastic and dramatic hymns are highly burst with energy and give power metal fans all over the planet an unforgettable and incomparable musical overindulgence. IMMORTAL The Norwegian black metal gods IMMORTAL are finally back after a longer time of musical abstinence and will exclusively freeze the whole paradisiacal METALCAMP 07 area with their acoustic weapons of ice and frost. Besides bandleader Abbath and his fellows awake the impression to be more possessed, dynamic and passionate than ever… This show seems to become extremely valuable in relation to the metal-history. DORO She is the queen of heavy metal and knows the music and the culture as good as the back of one’s hand. Since more than 20 years the former boss of Warlock is one of the most important female heavy metal-masterminds in the whole scene. Nowadays DORO Pesch’s solo-career still stands for a true high-graded metal-essential. SODOM SODOM are part of the big, German thrash metal-triumvirat. The well-versed strike force about lead-singer and bass-player Tom Angelripper already care for intensive killer-sounds in the brute world of metal since the early 80ies. The band is still one of the most relevant and influential combos, not only for the thrash metal subculture. THRESHOLD Sophisticated song-structures and creative sound-variations, which are based on a hard, but melodic groundwork, are special trademarks of THRESHOLD. The band belongs in tandem with acts like Queensryche or Dream Theater to the great “inventors of progressive metal/rock” and cause attention owing to their independent metal-interpretations. DEW-SCENTED Usually it happens that the German thrash-machinery DEW-SCENTED will compared with Slayer, because of their authentic and brutal form of expression and their metallic competence. This fact was demonstrated by the guys’ latest releases, in which they spent a lot of thrash / death metal enthusiasm. GRAVEWORM Since the existence of GRAVEWORM, we know that the breath-taking myths and legends of South Tyrol can be caught in a dark sound-castle. The excellent mixture between gothic, melodic death & black metal and elements of classical music is always responsible for a special, dark atmosphere. More bands will follow soon… Stay heavy & prepare for METALCAMP 07!
The grounds there look amazing! It would be the best place to vacation! Especially for seven day, five of them involving bands playing!
If I had the choice to do only one festival - Metalcamp is it. The water really is that blue, the days were hot and the water was icy cold. I remember getting out of the water after a swim and Greg comes up to me and says, 'Jon Oliva's pain are about to start' - no time to change, I walked up close enough to the stage and watched them in boardies and thongs - not your average Metal gig that's for sure. There was plenty of time between sets to get changed and return in time for the next band. It also had the best sound. s
I saw that Doro was playing and FUCK!!! Want to go, but fuck, its earlier than I planned to leave, it overlaps on Earthshaker (which I wanted to go to) but I'm a huge dirty fanboy for anything involving Doro, she kicks my arse.
WHAT???? and not have your birthday at a Metalfest? If I were you I'd consider this fest above all else. Here is one of the bars: Shots of the water: Note the scenery behind the car park, the mountains are all around you: If you're feeling a bit tired after a swim, watch the show from the hill: The stage: I also didn't have any problem at any time getting close to the stage although it did get rather packed at night: s
I will make it my ambition to one year make it to that festival! I got alot of begging to get there next year for my 18th birthday present.
