well im searching for good, brutal viking and battle metal.. does anybody know a great band? it is just i am searching a lot but most of the time the bands are battle metal. (not that i dont like battle metal..). So maybe it is easier to ask you guys for great bands.. i'm very impressed by THRONAR.. i think a few will know them. they make a mix of viking, heavy and battle metal and it sounds very nice, AND they are dutch.. so dont say the netherlands dont have great metalbands! so if you guys can help me..

How about Einherjer? They're more Viking than anyone.

And has anybody heard that Lord of the Rings metal band Battlelore? I saw a photo of them in Metal Maniacs and they look like the funniest band I've ever seen... one of them was an elf, one was an orc, etc. Curious as to what they sound like.

most of the time battle metal has a lot of influences from heavy metal and viking metal (or how most of the people simply say: death metal). But there are great parts of bombastic en symphonic chors, keyboards etc.
if you dont know battle metal.. you sure must listen to thronar! www.thronar.com
