I don't know how many of you know this band but I thought I'd post this on here in case anyone is interested. Basically their guitarists both recently left and the band are looking for 2 more. I've recently joined as a result but we need another guitarist and this forum is creaming itself with potential so if you feel you've got what it takes and you want to join an insane band like MPE get in touch with them ASAP!!

    "Hiyah!

Ok, so it's a time for a small update.
To be honest, things are pretty bad.
Our guitar players feel, that MPE is not something they want be part of anymore.
They have their reasons why they feel so, so...

    Anyways.
If we still want to continue with MPE, we need new guitar players.
This is our LAST try to make things happen.
If it does not work this time, or we don't find the right person/persons, then it's game over for MPE.

So, if you are, or know somebody, who is at least 21 years old, willing and able to write and play death metal with melodies and also would like to be a part of the new MPE, then send us an email.
    YOU CAN BE FROM ANYWHERE.
As long as you are eager and get something done, then you may be the one we are looking for.
AND we are looking for 1 or 2 players.

Soo, if you have what it takes, send us an email and we will talk more.
    band@morsprincipiumest.com

And just to make things 100% clear.
You can live, for example, in USA, Germany, Sweden, Australia, Finland or where ever.

    I fucking love this band!
But don't you think being a couple of oceans apart could make it a little bit complicated for rehearsals and things?

I submitted mine when I first heard about them wanting a guitarist back on March 11th. I learned a solo real quick, MIDI'd up some drums, recorded the rhythm, laid down some leads that were somewhat similar to the original and sent it to them ASAP. I think I spent all of maybe 20 to 30 minutes on it because the earthquake in Japan had just occurred, and I was more worried about that than trying to complete this thing. It's not the best production in the world or anything, but this is the take I sent them:

so if they can be anywhere, do they plan to tour at all? I imagine it would be difficult to do rehearsals, writing, etc.

They're an amazing band. One of the best melodeath bands ever, IMO.

They recently offered for a client/friend of mine to join, but I think the oceanic gap made it somewhat impractical, hahah.

I hope they find a 2nd guitarist soon, and are able to keep making music! I'd hate to see such a great band squandered.

i love this band....one of the best in melodeath imho.
i'm rather curious how they want to rehearse and tour.....it's not exactly easy with everyone coming from a different country.
still, tbh....i'm so fucking interested....i just love this band, it's right up my alley. damn...i really need to think about this....

If a band like them can't find a good guitarist, it's seriously damn sad.

Oh man, my buddy and I love this band! I'd love to give it a shot but I don't think I can shred like those guys! :worship: I'm also interested in what will become of this band, I would hate to see em fall apart.

Basically I'm writing demos from England and emailing back and forth almost every day with the other guys making changes to the tracks I send them etc. As far as I can tell this is how the writing process is going to go for the next album but it would be cool to have another guitarist's input as well to bring in some different elements and ideas.
As for touring, I'll probably just quit whatever job I happen to be in at the time and meet up with the guys wherever the tour begins. Practicing will be an interesting one but I don't see a problem with getting everything really tight on my own and then flying over to Finland maybe a week or so before the tour and practicing with the band before hitting the road.

At the end of the day, this is a pretty big opportunity for any metal guitarist and I'm prepared to drop everything for it and see how it pans out. It's a step up from recording Sega Megadrive tributes in my bedroom that's for sure...

Welp, I just sent them an email, and I really hope to hear back, but I have a feeling that the included tracks I sent won't really show myself in the best light for this genre.

If you really want to commit to it I recommend writing a demo song for them. They want to hear your ability to write songs in their style. I'd say come up with a couple of riffs and a chorus, maybe a solo in there for good measure just so they can see you've got what it takes and you are right for the band. A couple of people I know have sent links to live videos of them in bands but I think you'd have a better chance showing yourself off if you just sent them an MP3 of a Mors style song you've come up with.

    Bump.

I hope you see this post Acesulfame. So with this new song sample being posted recently, I assume you have found a second guitarist and things are progressing well with a new album on the horizon next year? Love the chorus, everything I love about MPE.

If you would've actually read the newslink you posted...

"A new axeman, Andy Gillion from the United Kingdom, has since been recruited. The band is still searching for a second guitarist."

    edit: Emmanuel was faster
