Moonlight is an amazing band. 'Meren-Re (Akt Ostatni)', 'Meren-Re (Dobranoc)', 'Nic' or '∞' are beatiful, sad songs. Maja has a phantastic voice. yet i'm not very happy with the direction they took on Audio 136 and Downwords...
try "all the pretty little horses" by Current 93 - with Nick Cave (they have one original version with horsies instead of horses, withouth cave)
It's "Sen Mutlu Ol Yeter" (it's enough if you are happy) of Ibrahim Tatlises that Ophaned Land played in Istanbul
But, The Beloved's Cry is a cover of Paradise Lost, is it not??? As for MOST depressing, I think I'll have to go with My Dying Bride's For My Fallen Angel. Geez...a very tear-inducing piece. Stuff by Katatonia and Anathema as well as Antimatter are all runner-ups.
Most of Janus' stuff is really, really depressing, both lyrically and musically. Especially songs like Du siehst aus wie immer and Kinderkreuzzug. Their new album Nachtmahr is possibly the most depressing album I've ever heard. Nevertheless a work of genious, like everything else they've released.

The most depression bands ever will have to be Funeral and Depressed Mode. Most of their albums are base on Doom funeral Metal with lots of dark lyrics atmosphere. This is my personal favorite bands.
