Well I read that Opeth is "surrounding" all albums, an idea which I don't quite agree with, EXCEPT for Damnation album. Imagining that album with surround sound gives me deep goose bumps. But there is only one tiny little thingy that I'd love to see changed, and I bet many of Opeth fans would too: the ending of Closure. Maybe a soft and mellow fade out and a treble bell or something would fit perfectly. Would there be any chance at all for this to happen, in case Damnation comes out re-edited someday, please, please?

And the second (and insignificant) thing, could you, my Lord, or anyone else, post everthing the three voices say at the end of The Lotus Eater? Many lives would become complete and pure if this took place.

    Thank you. :worship:

Where did you read this? The GR 5.1 was pretty disappointing, but the Watershed one came out really good. I haven't heard the Still Life 5.1. I don't really know how I feel about putting the older albums in 5.1, I don't really care honestly, 2.1 is enough for me, and I listen to almost all of my music at home on vinyl anyway.

That "dude" is Nathalie Lorichs. But I just can't fully figure out what they all SAY.
And you have to admit that ending is just evil.

I think the abrupt ending to Closure is one of the best parts of the entire Damnation album... and it's got a lot of pretty amazing parts!

It's an ironic ending. The song has no closure. As I've posted before, it seems to me to be a nod to the Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)".

Mike discussed in an interview that he thought they would be "surrounding" all the back catalog as far as he knew. He also said he felt likethe 5.1 mixes were "shallow ear candy". The thread is on here somewhere.

I don't mind if they mix all their albums in 5.1

It's always funny to listen to the center-speaker alone to study Mike's vocal-techniques! It's so funny to hear how his voice has changed from Still Life to Watershed(wich is the two albums I've heard in 5.1 mix)

ok, so now you made me curious about what they are saying in the end of Lotus eater.
so there's some swedish in there for sure, from what I've heard.
by the way, it's pretty much the exact same thing as in the middle of everlong by Foo Fighters, where three people whisper things at the same time.
in that case, it's Dave reading a technical manual, one of their roadies reading a love-note to his wife, and another one telling a strange-ass story.

So, on TLE I bet it's Mike who's telling the strange-ass story(I think we could all agree on this part?), Nathalie who's reading the love-note to her wife Axe, and Mendez who's reading the technical manual for the mic he's recording with in spanish :Smokin:
