    I was recording at a place a couple of years ago and they had a plugin where you could play a couple of bars of your guitars for example, and then you played a track with a reference sound and then you pressed a button and the plug matched what was missing.

    I cant for the sake of my life remember what it was named, do any of you know what the heck Im talking about?

    This could be fun using at home for referencing my own mixes.

    steinberg assimilator i thought it was called back in the old days. it was bundled in the steinberg mastering edition.

    Idk, but, I've always liked Elemental Audio's Firium (now Roger Nichols something or another) for this task. Works a treat and sounds very decent.
