Get to the part at 2.57 where it sounds almost djenty

Listen to how low that note is, I have been confused for a while about this, but that can not be just B# like Loomis normally plays in

I found that the only way i could reach the same sound and note was by tuning the low B down to G#

Here is a crappy sounding and played version of that section by me

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3163522/Drop G# nevermore sell my heart.wav

Play them together and to me, the note sounds the same

What is the actual tuning this song is played in? I'm a shit player so I can't be sure if I'm right or wrong :D

for the record, there is no such thing as B# in guitar tuning, cause that's a C. and second, he's tuned to Bb usually. but either way, that note is fuckin' low. maybe it's just the bass being mixed in higher on that part of the song though. idk...

There IS B#, it depends on the scale though..when you get into double flats/double sharps, ghey stuff like that then you may need it

Yeah, I think I checked that tab as well, though I've been sent a few different versions, and almost all of them are in different tunings :D I'm pretty sure that the low note is G# anyway

definitely A flat. he probably just drop-tuned the lowest string a whole step, like Drop-D on a 6 string in standard tuning.

    or G#, same thing.

Yeah, some tabs say it's the usual half step down plus dropping the low B and E strings another whole step.

Great part of the song. Great song. Great album. Great band. Great music.

Dunno about the tuning though.. I'm just a drummer.

Jeff is right. It is an A flat. I co-wrote the song, so I should know.
