And the new LORD Site is live! New blogs, tour dates, shiny new logo (wow), lots of media player stuff and a new store with lots of social networking integration! :)

If you don't see everything right, try reloading your browser (you may have an older version in your cache). Let us know if something isn't working - we'll be doing some tidying up and fixing little errors over the next few days.

The site is also taking a bit of a hammering right now so if it throws an error at you, give it a few minutes and try again. That'll settle down in a few days.

    Enjoy! :D

Some of your blog links are disappearing and reappearing. It seems to depend on which article you are on.

Ah, that's likely the caching - still tweaking that. With it off, the site is damn slow. I'll see if there's a way to force a reindex whenever we do an update.

We'd actually turned down a few shows, some pretty high profile in fact, because we just needed to have the break. Hard decision but I think people will find this year it was the right one. :)

Very nice! I can see it from work- there are a few URL blocked banners but most of it is there. Interesting about Andy's comments on Mark's blog- I think a few "Shut your Vile Orifice's" are in order there Mark...

I just noticed you're using Gigpress in the events section. I swapped over to that a month or so ago for Metal Obsession too, it's an absolute godsend. What other plugins are you using, out of curiosity? I'm always on the lookout for little new things to try out.

    OK, we're using:

Akismet for spam protection in the comments (linkback spam especially)
Blog In Blog for inline post links to our blogs, in other blogs, so we can make reference to other stuff that was posted
Coming Soon Pages for shutting the site down while we work on it
Exec-PHP for running custom PHP scripts in pages and widgets
Flash MP3 Player for our media player
GigPress - you know what that is
Inline Posts - you can include posts in static pages
Latest Posts By Author - easy way to reference the last posts in a widget
Share And Follow - that's icon links to Facebook, Twitter, etc. on the sidebar
Widget Logic - this is awesome, you can set conditional tags for each widget based on which page is loaded, so if it's say my profile page, I can set up a group of widgets that only display on that page (like my Twitter and Facebook) so we can show appropriate content everywhere
Widgets On Pages - basically what it says, so if you can run a widget in the sidebar, you can run it inline too
YouTube - convert YouTube links to embedded video automatically
Share And Follow - that's all of the sharing links at the bottom of each page
SEO Facebook - basically search engine optimisation to help the pages rank better on Google, etc.
Hypercache Extended - since the site is dynamic, it puts a hell of a load on the server when it makes each page, so for anything that mostly doesn't change, it caches a static version of the page so it doesn't have to recreate it each time

Oh and also the Ecwid store, which is awesome because it integrates directly into Facebook too. And we have a shitload of Facebook and Twitter integration in each page as well.

I think that's more or less everything. I'll be adding the mobile pack sometime too when I get a chance.

Ah cool. Will keep that Ecwid store one in mind seeing as I have a bit of merch being designed. Widget Logic is indeed fantastic, used to use it, but for some reason it conflicts with my current theme. No idea why.

Cheers for that. I'm digging that audio player, nice and simple. I've tried a few and they just always ended up looking a bit messy.
