So Mastodon's Blood Mountain comes out tomorrow...I've got the leaked tracks but I'm pickin it up anyway. I was wonderin if anyone else has heard that shit and if so what you think of it. I went to their show in NY last Friday, I was standing in the front row and they whooped my ass in an unbelievable fashion.:headbang:

Just bought it, haven't heard the whole thing yet but it is an outstanding release. I saw them on the Unholy Alliance tour and they tore it up, and they will be back in Seattle next weekend and I will be there. These guys are definitely some up and comers.

they just get better and better, there unafraid, if they take a musical step its definatly not tentative, i love the way they make each release stand out from the last, nothing really sounds the same

Have to say, Blood Mountain is a great CD, I am thoroughly enjoying it. They do indeed take chances and try new things and yet you know it is a Mastodon song anyway. Can't wait to see them next weekend:headbang:

Just picked up the cd while in chicago yesterday. Almost got to see them live. They were playing at a club within walking distance, but when we got there, they of course were sold out. dammit.

Have to agree with that, their best so far. Good to know that the major label didn't mess with them at all, maybe it is possible for good music to come out on a major label with this and Sacrament.
