Yeah...i just heard it and found it boring and predictable. I hope the rest of Thirt3en isnt like this. Dave said somewhere that some of the riffs on the new album were written durring the Peace Sells era. Thats always good news when a band admits to using ideas that werent good enough for their previous albums! It seems the only tricks left up their sleeve is watching Broderick shred, which is fun but not memorable.

I haven't heard it yet, but it doesn't surprise me if it's nothing special. They've been pretty bland for more than a decade now if you ask me. All of their 2000-era albums have a few choice tracks, but most is filler. Also, it's hard to recapture your glory days (Peace Sells through Countdown) when your lineup changes for every album because Mustaine's personality drives everyone away.

Try as they might, Megadeth is never going to recapture those RIP glory days. The song isn't bad or anything, but it's nothing that's memorable enough for me to want to hear again. Oh well, thanks for posting it.

Mary Friedman will just write lame ballads. He wont write another Tornado of Souls solo. Theres a reason he left.

Here is the studio version which is much better than the crappy quality of the live video.

I'm with Detective here. This does however sound better than the abomination that Metallica is going to be releasing next.

I'm not sure if he would just write "lame ballads," but he did leave because he was sick of painting in one "color" with Megadeth (gun metal gray); he wanted to paint in oranges and purples and blues, etc. And while this comment sounds a bit fruity, he's not entirely wrong...

The studio version of this new song does sound way better than the live version, but to me it just reeks of System Has Failed-era Megadeth. Also, the lyrics are ridiculous - what is he trying to do, appeal to 13-year-olds who think they're super badass? "I'm wanted dead or dead, anyone who's tried has got a bullet to the head." Really, grow up, Dave. Early 90's Megadeth actually had well-crafted, somewhat meaningful lyrics for the most part (not counting Psychotron here, haha).

The music on this new track also falls short. Yeah, it's full speed ahead, but it's just too basic and boring when compared to their classic stuff. What happened to all the spider riffs and semi-technical stuff? This just sounds boring and uninspired.

Marty Friedman quit the band to go play Japanese pop music in Japan. The fucker lives there and never returned again. The metal lifestyle scares him, there is just too much testosterone for him to handle.

Holy shit, I used to think that St. Anger was the worst thing that Metallica would do ever... :ill:

Yeah, too bad he pursued what he wants to do where he wants to do it instead of doing what YOU want him to do.

The way I see it, he is free to do whatever he wants and doesn't need to conform to your idea of a "metal lifestyle", especially when he's still a cool guitar player and a very nice guy.

I don't give a shit what he does. For all I care he can go suck off some goats in a pig pen if he wants. He did good work for Megadeth back in the day and now he is gone and will never return. I have been well over that fact since the 90's.

I've already heard the 3 new songs by megadeth, sudden death, public enemy, and never dead. All of them sound repetitive with little diversity to me, and that is a huge problem. Somewhat shows a bad impression for the new album to me
