I just checked out "Cult" on their website and it really is a sucky song ... I am a huge Slayer fan since South Of Heaven came out, but this track really annoys me. It starts out so cool with the deep toms but when they go fast it's just like they are rehashing the same old riffs and lyric rhythms (Dittohead anyone?).

If I want Slayer to sound like this, I'll go put on Seasons In The Abyss ...

It's close, but not even on the same planet. That's why this band sucks! You know when you hear Carcass your gonna love it. When you hear Tryvium, you just wanna turn it off!

well everyone got his own opinion about the band.
a big mistake IMO from people is that people blame trivium for being "The New Metallica". i just want to say, they didnt say it for themselves that they are the new metallica are, the media did, and even if we know the tricks ofthe media, we still fucking getting napped by it.
anyway im going to so them tonight ( with metallica etc )
and i will post my judge about their whole act.

i enginneered the new record with jason. matt and jason produced. i'll be very interested to see how it is recieved by fans. i think this record is really fucking solid man... its killer and should gain them lots of new fans. it is definitely a heavy metal record through and through, not a hint of metalcore if you ask me. a completely new and pretty wise direction. i wouldnt be quick to judge the record based on the new live song they played as the record is so much more complex than that.

I feel this way about 90% of the "new-break-through" bands that Roadrunner released in the last eight years. It's kind of funny to see Monte proudly saying that he "signed Sepultura, Fear Factory and Machine Head", it happened like 15 years ago for christ sake!

I don't really know what's their criteria for "innovative bands", claimed by them everywhere on press releases and websites, but it's actually the same stuff over and over. I don't even feel like it's "playing safe" since most of those bands are commercially null.

    And I like Trivium :p

Glad that I am not alone with that. All the Chimaira's and 36 CF and KSE just don't do anything for me ... never understood their signing policy. Even Slipknot I don't understand (although they are selling big) ...

Hm, I prefer Glassjaw by far.

It's funny, some people used to compare my former band to 36 CF - although we sounded more like a cross between Machine Head and Pantera ... sometimes it's weird how differently people view music!
