    Just finished Game of Thrones. Loved it, glad I had the foresight to grab a set of the first four instead of just buying GoT. Starting A Clash of Kings now!

    No, the very end with the characters going off to wherever was fine. For me the ending is the battle, which left me dry.

    Still a fantastic book. I haven't read a Stephen King book since I liked as much.

    has the author announced how many there will be in the sries, yet?
    i'm thinkinking of how JK Rowling announced that there would be a total of 7 Harry Potter books right when the third one hit store shelves, has George RR Martin made any kind of announcement like that?

    Yeah, the final battle was a little on the "meh" side. Except for what the character of Ben had to do. YICK.

    Not quite. He said his *publisher* would like for him to do 8 (nice round number), but he told them not if he could avoid it.
