I hope you have a great time in New York ! :kickass:

Be careful in the restaurants (particularly the Italian ones) if they say you are ordering too much, you will be , trust me the portions are HUGE.

P.S.We never did it as the Republican (sorry to mention them our stateside chums) conference had been on, but I hear the Madison Square Garden tour is worth a visit if you get a chance.

    ENJOY :Smokin:

Thanks chaps! :) I do hear that the food portions are very big...so I've decided not to eat (except at breakfast) whilst I'm there! :( Can't afford to put any weight on, not with Christmas just around the corner!!

    Some tips for New York:

THE ABSOLUTE WORST things to say to a Police Officer in New York are:

    # I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer.
    # That uniform makes your butt look really big.
    # Aren't you the guy from the Village People?
    # Didn't I see you get your butt kicked on Cops?
    # I bet I could grab that gun before you finish writing my ticket.
    # Hey, you must have been doing about 150 mph to keep up with me!
    # Good job! I thought you had to be in relatively good physical condition to be a police officer.
    # I was going to be a cop, but I decided to finish high school instead.
    # Bad Cop! No Donut!
    # Gee, that gut sure doesn't inspire confidence.
    # When you smack the crap out of me, make sure you smile pretty for the camcorder.
    # I pay your salary!
    # Gee, thanks officer! That's terrific. The last officer only gave me a warning too.
    # Do you know why you pulled me over? Okay, just so one of us does.
    # I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there is no other car around, that's how far they are ahead of me.
    # Sorry, I can't hear you over the radio. No I am not turning it down. I love this song.
    # Well, when I reached down to pick up my bag of crack, my gun fell off my lap and got lodged between the brake pedal and the gas pedal, forcing me to speed out of control.

    Cheeky bugger!

Golden Goose - Do you know the reason why everyday about 2.10pm, there is a big line of police cars (about 10-12 cars) driving through Midtown New York. We saw it pretty much everyday. All the police cars had their lights on, but not sirens, and they wern't driving fast as if on their way to a call. So there must be a reason for it, I was just wondering if you knew?

    Cheers Klingonbear and Fingers.

Yeah we sorted out the basketball thanks mate. Managed to keep it secret from Jake until the bus driver said this is the bus for the basketball. Otherwise he wouldn't have known until we got right to the stadium!

Managed to get good seats (the arena was only about a third full), and the Nets beat Philly 76'ers by 10 points. It was entertaining, and even I enjoyed it, which I didn't think I would! :headbang:

I prefer baseball actually. Saw Toronto Bluejays v Detroit mays years ago, and it was great, loved every minute of it! The Mets were at home in the play offs while we were there, no chance of getting a ticket though!

Here's a pic of the police cars - queueing for the doughnut shop, perhaps? P.S. I didn't change the time on the camera, so it was actually 14.19, not 19.19.
