They dont play enough song from this period in my opinion. I'm calling you to a little game now. Please choose one - one song from every album from 1986 - 1995, what you want to hear (again) on their concerts. But please dont write: Ride like..., Solid..., Requiem, Forever..., Dogs of... They play them always and they are uninteresting songs in this game. Thanx Paxo! great songs really! Hold On rules! I don´t know the reason why Saxon never played this song alive. Maybe a Graham Oliver composition or other thing but It´s a fantastic song from DOW really.
Quite frankly I believe the most underrated Saxon album is Unleash the Beast,it's their best in the last decade imo,they don't play enough stuff from that album,barely a couple of minutes from the titletrack if we're lucky.. btw I agree with the spirit of this thread,totally.
I liked Hold on when i first heard it .....but its almost a deliberate attempt to be commercial and thats what i think of when i hear it, i mean the lyrics could be from a bon jovi song really. personally i like Demolition Alley as a better song from that record to play live

I was just thinking that! The song is just a bit too "usual". Rock the Nations: Battle Cry (very sinister sounding to be a Saxon song..) Destiny: I Can't Wait anymore (I know it's "usual" too, but it's among the few songs i like on that record) Solid Ball of Rock: Lights In The Sky (very nice song, prob the best on that album imo) Forever Free: title track, don't really liked the other ones Dogs of War: Burning Wheels Unleash The Beast: Circle Of Light
