Permanent Price Drop on MR816 Interfaces

Steinberg announces today that its prices for both the MR816 CSX and MR816 X FireWire interfaces have been lowered by 300 and 200 euro, respectively. While the pair has witnessed a remarkable success since being introduced in 2008, an increase in efficiency of production was noted over the last year which allows Steinberg now to adjust the pricing accordingly and pass the benefit on to its valued customers.

The pro-audio MR816 units combine FireWire interfacing with Advanced Integration technology and are the focus of every latency-free recording and monitoring environment, taking full advantage of Steinberg’s renowned Cubase music production system.

Good news. If I were looking for an FW interface right now the CSX would be the one I'd get.
However I don't buy the "increase in efficiency of production" thing. Pretty sure they are lowering the prize in order to sell some more of these units before they introduce an updated version or even something new soon.
