Guys, for those who heard the new album, what do you think of Peter's vocal performance of the track "Hell Is Where I Stay " from the new album compared to his performance from Nightmares Made Flesh track "Eaten?" Is it deeper and much more brutal?
I don't know why, but "Eaten" doesn't stand out to me at all in terms of Peter's most impressive vocals. I don't know if it's the production or what, but as a huge Tagtgren fan, this song doesn't impress me too much. To me, his vocals on "Hypocrisy Destroys Wacken" are the best he's ever done. It's got the deepest/highest vocals and everything else Peter is known for. It's got it all. But in terms of studio albums, I've been listening to "Global Domination" nonstop for a while now and it never fails to impress.
jep, wacken '98 is the most impressive vocal performance ive ever heard and i find the performance on hell is where i stay and many other hypo studio songs much more interesting and impressiv than that one on eaten
Sorry but nothing Peter has done in the past/present compares to his outrageous performance on NMF. His lows sound weird in Hell is where I stay... almost like his voice is slightly cracking. Signs of age my friends.
This. NMF vocals are absolutely crushing. I think the production is part of that, I noticed he mixes his own vocals with more distortion. That said Im not a big fan of Eaten overall even though it seems to have a reputation as an iconic death metal song. I just think the rest of the album is more interesting. The guy is a hell of a growler though I dont think his lows sound weird or cracking
