I can tab 1/2 of the song for you, I'll take a crack at it this week. it's a guitar duet though and I don't konw the otehr part.
http://www.baliset.net/lessons.html (not trying to steal anyone's rumbling thunder, i just know they're all away noodling in NY at the moment)
I was trying to figure out Ferocious Weights about half a year ago, and was meaning to ask whether it's in DADGBE tuning?
I can play all of the guitar parts in Geography, but most of the song's are a bit intimidating to learn by ear (dammit toby and greg!).
ferocious weights is in DADGBE (so are a lot of others - girl with a watering can, birth pains, bizzare flowers, riseth he the numberless, to name a few)
THAT IS AN INTERESTING QUESTION SPACE GHOST. also, i can play all of Jason Bitner's parts on Choirs of the Eye, but that's all.
Heaven and Weak on bass. I've been tabbing it myself and only have the intro done so far though.... eventually though.
It's funny that this thread just popped back up; I was just taking a break from learning Birth Pains. Again: Dammit Toby and Greg! The clean guitar parts are the hardest, and I think my tuning is a little off as well, creating mass confusion.
Lesson for the day: Being bold is futile, and often results in quarrelsome challenges that cut you at the knees. Especially when your name is xfer.
I'm looking forward to more tabs. That one was nice but the second solo from Birth Pains is pretty easy to make out (clean playing, on scale) without a tab. How about some of the more dissonant harmonised parts? And whole songs? The possibilities are endless! Greg should quit ("I quit!") Kayo Dot to focus on transcribing every single song he's played on. Oh and I think I can play 'They Aren't All Beautifull' up to the third minute or so. And I can't play the harmonized parts because a) I haven't figured everything out and b) I have only two hands. It's also sort of strange that when I play it I feel compelled to murmur "I. will breathe. seawater. soon. " at the appropriate spot. I'm not compelled to murmur the rest of the lyrics, just that one bit. Then I lose all interest in figuring out the rest of the song and I go back to turning the distortion off and switching the delay on and playing faggy marillion songs.
