So I was lurking /mu/ and I found a retarded argument about which album is more aggressive/better/etc. Both were released in the same year, and both pushed the boundaries of what was br00tal. *edit* They even both have the same amount of words!
How about the "mutantllama is a jerk for creating this thread/poll" option? Because you are a jerk. Jerk.
Hell Awaits is the best Slayer album, but that doesn't stop Reign in Blood from being an amazing album.
PtK is really good and all, but Reign In Blood is obviously better. I love how if you mention the word "slayer" someone reflexively mentions Hell Awaits even though it's NOT RELEVANT TO THE FUCKING THREAD.
Because it's pointless to devote an entire thread to arguing the superiority of albums at least one of which is not the band's best. I voted PtK because it is the pinnacle of German Thrash, and perhaps all Thrash if not for...I don't know, HELL AWAITS???
I mean, the thread was created to discuss RiB vs PtK, so maybe we could try that briefly before talking about HA. Anyhow, PtK is definitely the heavier, more brutal album, but I think as an album RiB functions better.
Reign in Blood. Can't think of many that can match up except for Puppetz, Forbidden Evil and the Legacy.
I'm also with you there, but South of Heaven is even better than RiB imo. RiB wins this poll for me though.
