Practice what you preach is still a pretty melodic record compared to Evile.
And as I've already said, there're some bands that can pull of ballads without a hitch (Testament) and those who can't do them for shit no matter how hard they try (pretty muh every other thrash band that's ever done a ballad). Although I'm sure Matt and the boys have it in them, I don't want to wait until I hear such a thing to discover which of these catagories they fit into. Best to play it safe when it comes to ballads
i think evile would do a really good power ballad .but if it was something like Testaments return to serenity, trail of tears..ect........matts got a really good melodic voice.
Power ballads are almost a completely different thing
Evile would have to ditch the dark side of their music if they were to pull it off.
Ol can do some really beautiful shit with his guitar, I think it could be done. As a pure ballad on an album, I'm not sure I'd want to hear a pure ballad, but a cover from Poison would be dope.....NNNNNNOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT
I think a mixture would be cool, like One Metallica, Pantera Love, Hollow Etc. One that has a creepy feel would be cool to.
powerballads maybe, but again it'd have to be done well. That's the tough part.
