Sort of. They have the obligatory piano-drenched ballad and 10 minute epic closer, gang choruses, etc. It plays off of power metal tropes, but lovingly. In my opinion, their appeal is largely based off the fact that they're gigantic dorks and love wearing it on their sleeves. The fun they're having playing ridiculous songs is infectious, and the songs themselves are really catchy too. I bet they'll be absolutely show-stopping live.

Unknown, probably not, but Chris just said they're announcing an "unrelated us and canada" tour on reddit... so we'll see.

Wait. They're called Gloryhammer. Were people actually thinking they were a serious band?

...As opposed to other bands with similar monikers that are serious bands?

They ARE a serious band! The music they play is just ridiculous, and they embrace it!

dudes. It's power metal. Whether its serious or not is moot. It'll be fun live regardless of what listening to it recorded is like.

If they took the same music and wrote serious lyrics, the straight-laced power fans would be all over it. I love the cheese. :)
