Cryptor pulling double duties again on this one!
    Champion.

Should be another great Lansdowne event.

Another "free" headlining show at The lansdowne for those masters of all things doomy, LYCANTHIA with a nice diverse support cast including TERATORNIS (thrash) + HEMINA (prog) and DARK NEMESIS (Death-making their first trip up to Sydney).
    Expect a huge evening!!!

    For any Adelaide metalheads here...
My Power Metal band 'Matronarch' will be shredding up the stage at the Crown and Anchor Hotel on the 8th of August. It is on a Sunday night, so recover from your hangovers, forget about work the next day and come and see some epic, melodic power metal!

Taliesin and Danny John Trio and another band who's name escapes me are playing at THE BASEMENT, ACT on Sept 4.

DJ3 are an awesome fusion combo
    Taliesin are prog rock/metal.

If you like guitar solos this is the place to be.

PROGFEST is a celebration of musicians creating progressive music.
Featuring progressive bands of all styles and genres, from prog, post, psychedelic, art rock & metal and everything in between, PROGFEST is about showcasing bands that think for themselves; bands who rather than simply recreating the music of the mainstream and desperately seeking chart places, have decided to challenge themselves musically and create music with depth and vision.

After the birth of PROGFEST in Melbourne in late 2008, the event slowly travelled around the country over the next 12 months with subsequent events taking place in Sydney, Canberra & Brisbane. Continually building momentum with each show, PROGFEST now returns in 2010, bigger and better than ever, and showcasing the many remarkable progressive bands of all styles this country has to offer in cities across Australia!

PROGFEST hits Adelaide on September 3 and features an amazing line-up of progressive music including: Quiet Child, Two Suns, Toehider, Quest, Saeturnum & Ride Into The Sun! PROGFEST is one event not to be missed by any open-minded music fan!

ELEVENTH HE REACHES LONDON hail from Perth, Western Australia; a vast area of land separated from the rest of the country by an expanse of desert. This isolation has afforded Eleventh the luxury of being able to grow organically, independent of the clichés and trends often present in larger communities. The result is a band that draws on inspiration from all corners to create an original, dynamic sound whose whole is far greater than the sum of its parts.

After first taking to the stage in 2003, releasing a sought-after demo as well as appearing on numerous compilations, Eleventh self-released their debut album in December 2005. “The Good Fight For Harmony” received acclaim throughout the world, sat atop of the local charts for several months, and sold out of its first pressing within 8 weeks of release.

Eleventh’s sophomore effort “Hollow Be My Name” was released on Good Cop Bad Cop Records in 2009 to critical acclaim. Scores of reviews were written praising the album, which experiments with potent, hateful lyricism and bleak, heavy soundscapes, contrasted with melodic beauty. There was no doubt that Eleventh had released their finest work when the album appeared in Top 10 lists for 2009 across the world.

Throughout their career, Eleventh He Reaches London have supported Coheed and Cambria, Cult of Luna, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, ISIS, Against Me! and Les Savy Fav, and played the In The Pines, Taste of Chaos and Soundwave festivals, alongside bands such as The Offspring, Incubus, Killswitch Engage, Rise Against and The Used. Along the way, the band has won three West Australian Music Industry Association (WAMi) Awards from seven nominations, and received considerable radio airplay across Australia.

In 2010, Eleventh have continued to write the follow up to “Hollow Be My Name”, venturing even deeper into the sonic abyss and presenting new material to a select few shows in Perth. Eleventh’s 2010 national tour will see the band in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, performing much loved favourites from their first two albums as well as showcasing some new material.

    Absolutepunk.net, 17 July 2009

“this will go down as one of the most original and daring alternative records in Australian music, it is beyond epic. 5 out of 5”
