did opeth use an electric drummer in one of their albums?
no. why do you ask?
They used triggered bass drums on a few, but that's all. Which to clarify has nothing to do with a drum machine, but it can make it sound a little like one.
Sometimes I feel like touching you in erotic ways. \m/
What are triggered bass drums? I've read this term in many interviews and on messageboards, but I never really understood what it meant...
The beggining of NEctar sounds like a drum machine
triggers are little devices, kinda like microphones, that you place on the side of your drumheads. essentially they turn the acoustic sound of the bass drum hit into a simple on/off (1/0) electric signal which can then can be used to 'trigger' a sample to be played. the slightest hit will register as a 1 and hence regulates the sound of that drum.
Doc from vader uses them on LITANY.
I don't think they have ever used triggers, but I may be mistaken...
