Metallica would have still went down the drain regardless imo. Cliff would have probably quit. Lars and James are to egotical to care if another band member did not like something or had musical opinions. Lars thinks it's his band, james also thinks it's his band.

So true. I can only imagine what kind of music Cliff Would be making today. Surely it would be mind blowing.

I've still never seen anyone play bass like he did. John Alderete and John Myung are the only people to come close.

as the posts above me show, the good thing about dying integrity intact is that nobody considers that you wouldve eventually sold out anyway

And considering James and Lars started the band they would be right to think so.

ps- 'egotical' is not a word.

I meant egotistical. Regardless if lars and james started it other members should be respected. Neither or bob rock gave to shits about kirks opinions or imputs on the last album and he's pretty much been in the band early on. As far as I know lars knows nothing about guitar so he should shut his mouth.

Yep. I've no doubts he would have. Money, fame and US musicians does not seem to be a good combination

I totally agree. And it's not like he did all that much songwriting for the band, anyways. They would probably be pretty much exactly the same today if Cliff had not died. Yeah, he would have quit just like Jason did. A friend of mine claims that Jason was kicked out of the band because he's gay; I call bs on that.

That sounds like bullshit to me also. I doubt a band would kick out a band member of 5+ years just because of sexual orientation. If you can play your instrument what band members would really care about who or what sex you are attracted too.

True. Though James does seem like somewhat of a redneck. But I'm sure it's bs anyways. Jason probably isn't even gay. I've also heard Phil of Pantera is gay, but that was proven to be bs as well.

I never saw jason as being gay. Maybe someone has stereotype about how homosexuals are from TV and it's harder to detect if someone might be gay that has nothing to do with pop culture. In real life i've never come across someone where I thought to myself that person is gay, but if you watch TV you can tell right off the bat if someone is gay.

You are either extremely sheltered or extremely oblivious.

    JASON ISNT FUCKING GAY

He wanted a solo project and James wouldnt allow it, so the only way to do what he wanted to do is quit.

I have lived in small town since 4 year olds. I would probably be considered sheltered and oblivious to someone from a city for example.
