Saw them live on the Hail to the Theif tour, Mixymatosis live was spectacular.

thom yorke (IMFO) is one of best lyricists of the past 2 decades, but as far as a vocalist he has a tendancy to come across as a whinny little bitch.:heh:

porcupine tree have more control over their instruments, they are better in that aspect.

Radiohead has an abiltiy to create more dramatic landscapes with their sound and compositions ala Pink Floyd but there is no realistic comparison there. not even fuking close.

Meddle is way more may advanced, technical, overall superior to anything the squeekee little britts have ever come up with or done in their career.

Kid A is my fav album... although I think all of their albums have some good stuff going on. And I prefer RH over PT.

About the ancient debate over KC opening for Tool: what I have understood from their interviews, KC wasn't in the role of a supporting band as such, but it was more of an equal tour with two great bands, as Tool have often stated KC as one of their biggest influences, and KC opened every night only because Tool are more popular right now.

I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear, I'm kinda drunk right now. :(

edit: and about the technical side, I think that all of Radiohead's "unclean" sounds are there on purpose, for example Jonny's guitar playing style and the occasional lo-fi sounds, they wouldn't be the same without those things, which btw fit really well into their music. I also think PT is way too polished and flawless for me to enjoy.

Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all time. Radiohead is mediocre.

    Pink Floyd > > > Porcupine Tree > Radiohead > King Crimson > > Tool

    To me....

The new Porcupine Tree album is freaking amazing. It may turn out to be the best one from the band yet, in my opinion. I have to listen to it more to be sure.

This is mildly disturbing to me. Right now I don't have the patience to wonder why it was ever typed.

Radiohead is just mindblowingly amazing and I woudnt even come close to comparing them with PT. The raw emotion, originality, talent, song writing skill and electicness that Radiohead display are at a level that 99.9% of the bands past and present can only dream about.

Why do you say that? But to be fair, it's a tough call between the two - it's more like a coin toss between them, really. That'd explain the one ">" separating them haha.

    Except Tool.

My philosophy is that no band can be objectively bad unless they're Tool.
