Have you ever witnessed someone shred with such passion?
I'll go with man.
As someone who witnessed him live on the Diary of A Madman tour? Can confirm divinity.
He was a great player, no doubt, and I'm a massive Ozzy fan, but I wouldn't say divinity. I feel people get a little carried away with him due to his death, but then again if he had have lived on and gone from strength to strength then maybe he would be deserving of the hype!
Either way I love the guy.
It's not a serious thread, it's a joking praise of just how skyrending Randy's playing was while he was here.
" then again if he had have lived on and gone from strength to strength then maybe he would be deserving of the hype!" I like to think so too - but maybe he wouldn't have done. That's the thing I guess - we'll never know how many great songs and great solos he had in him. Somewhere out there there's a parallel universe where the guy lived but just kinda ran out of steam and ended up fading away.
He was a man but played guitar like a GOD! Amazing live performance by the band. RR is an equal to EV imho..
Rhoads is a God. Not just his huge talent in guitar playing, but also songwriting. And he looked the part too! One of the best guitarists ever. I never tire of the Blizzard and Diary albums.
I respect Randy for doing some things never tried before as far as the way he fused classical and metal, but frankly, he was sloppy and very human.
