Communic are, I suppose, the obvious examples. Although I personally think that's pretty debatable. The vocals occasionally sound WD-esque but that's about it.

Zero Hour is pretty good prog, with some Nevermore-ish parts.

Melechesh (I'm sure most of you know them, but I'll mention them anyway)- Earlier stuff is traditional black metal with Near-Eastern touches. More recent stuff is black/thrash written using ancient, meditative, Mesopotamian folk music theories.

Seventh Wonder- Prog with AOR. Very melodic, but heavy. Really addictive

Tomorrow's Eve- Prog. Pretty heavy, moody, emotional and not really wanky. Vocals have a Warrel vibe to them.

    Machinery- power/modern thrash.

    Worwyk- Heavy/modern thrash.

Sabbat (Jap)- Very underrated death/thrash/proto-black metal.

Enochian Crescent- Weird black metal. Last album is mix of thrash and black with hints of avant-garde.

Burning Inside- Tech death with Richard Christy and Michael Estes of Acheron.

Atheretic- Over the top tech death
